What is Gun Control? People think that guns should be banned from everyone in the United States to reduce violence. However, what is violence? According to dictionary.com, violence is the exercise or an instance of physical force, usually effecting or intended to effect injuries, destruction, etc. No where in that defination does it say that guns are the automatic source for violence. Violence can be any form of hurting. If someone has mental problems and they are violent, they are not going to rely on just guns to be violent. There are other forms of violence. They can use other weapens such as knives. Getting rid of guns will do nothing except cause different violence. If we got rid of guns then we might as well get rid of knives too, because they can cause violence as well.
Gun Control will clearly not work. In 1919, Prohibition banned owning, producing, and selling alcohol. This didn't work, because it just caused people to rebel. It would be the same situation. We need to learn from the past and quit repeating our mistakes!
If we banned guns then hunting would no longer exist, overpopulating some animals like deer. This is just an all-around bad idea.
